Forest Replacement Program to Bom Futuro National Forest

The Forest Replacement Project in the Bom Futuro National Forest consisted of recovering 72 hectares of degraded areas. Planting was carried out by planting seedlings. As a whole, 81,689 seedlings were planted in the project, and 89,094 were regenerated, totaling 170,773 recovered units.

The project lasted 28 months, bringing significant results where the seedlings planted reached an average height of 5.5 meters, having grown much higher than the registered references. In the social sphere, during the twenty-eight months of the project under the responsibility of Norte Brasil, the project created 41 jobs, having benefited 39 families.

Finally, considering the data presented, it can be concluded that the implementation of Forest Replacement Projects resulting from the environmental licensing of infrastructure sector ventures is considered to be an effective strategy for the recovery of large-scale degraded areas, as well as the maintenance of biodiversity as a whole.
