NBTE – IMAFLORA Social Project

The IMAFLORA Social Project, in partnership with Origens Brasil, was developed to expand the network’s operations in the Amazon, promoting sustainable practices, environmental conservation and the strengthening of local communities.
The initiative was supported by Evoltz and other strategic partners, directly benefiting producer communities, local organizations and companies committed to sustainability.

Project Objectives

Expand the Origens Brasil network to the Tupi-Guaporé territory (MT and RO).

Increase the number of participating producers and companies to generate new sustainable businesses.

Conduct training and capacity building for local communities and organizations operating in the Origens Brazil model.

Encourage responsible consumption through campaigns and engagement of companies and consumers.

Provide technological infrastructure, such as tablets and GPS, for field data collection.

Promote the mapping and valuation of biodiversity products, expanding the benefits for the communities involved.

Results achieved

Period of Performance: 2020 to 2022

Expansion of the Origens Brasil network to 5 territories.

Inclusion of 60 new community organizations.

Registration of 3,348 directly benefited producers.

Expansion of participating companies from 15 to 35 members of the network.

Transaction of R$15.8 million in sustainable products, exceeding the initial target of R$12 million.

Project Stages

Promoting sustainable business:
  • Holding a large network meeting, with more than 170 participants, to stimulate and expand sustainable businesses.
  • Media communication campaigns highlighting the motto "Floresta em Pé é o Melhor Negócio" ("Standing Forest is the Best Business").
Support for community organizations:
  • Direct benefit to 7 community organizations in the states of Pará, Amazonas, Roraima and Mato Grosso, with construction and renovation of 27 units, including storerooms, rubber houses and mini power plants.
Success cases:
  • Rubber in Tupi-Guaporé: Production and marketing of latex for the Vert company, generating product appreciation and income for the region.
  • Yanomami Mushroom: Launch of a product in partnership with Mãe Terra, promoting income and visibility for the Yanomami peoples.

Positive Impact

The project reaffirmed Evoltz’s commitment to sustainability, the enhancement of biodiversity and the economic strengthening of local communities. The initiative generated new business, promoted environmental conservation and increased the perception of the value of the standing forest.
